50 Cent sues Taco Bell
50 Cent is alwys involve in beef, this time with Taco Bell
50 Cent is suing the Taco Bell fast-food chain over claims it violated a trademark by using his persona without permission.Jump!
Taco Bell, owned by Yum Brands, wrongfully used Curtis Jackson's stage name in a letter sent to U.S. news outlets asking the performer to change his name to "79 Cent," "89 Cent" or "99 Cent," according to a complaint filed in federal court in New York.
The letter generated free advertising for Taco Bell and a false endorsement by 50 Cent, the artist claimed. Taco Bell, based in Louisville, Ky., confused customers about Jackson's affiliation with the food chain and diluted the distinctive quality of his moniker, according to the suit.
Jackson seeks at least $1 million in damages, payment of attorneys' fees and a court order barring Taco Bell from using his persona in the ad.
Who's Built for Beef?
Beef has always been a part of the equation in making rap music what it is to today. From the days of Roxanne Shante vs The Real Roxanne, battles have fueled the hype and added to the excitement of what rap is about, but it was all art imitaing life, is it me, or does it appear that life has begun imitating art?
Is the so called beef what it used to be or have we fed steroids to our cow jaw flapping emcees and produced something entirely different from what it used to be?

Fat Joe 2 pieces Papoose. (or vice versa, Cassidy wont tell us)
T.I. caught buying a shit load of weapons. (Does 50 really wanna fuck with that gun shit?.... AGAIN?) The list could go on and on but my point is, have we taken what used to be who could rap the best and get the crowd most hype into some street thug, dont let me catch you in the street type of thing?
The latest to enter into the greezy steezy, Yung Burg and Tyga, with their own seperate beefs, launch video campaigns to air their latest grievances.
First up: Young Berg.
Next up: Tyga (in response to 40 Dolla, a G-Unit affiliate)

Is 50 Cent Dissing T.I. On G-Unit's 'You So Tough'?
'It's Absolutely For The Public To Decide,' is all we get from 50 Cent on this question. Everybody already knows who he's talking about but it appears 50 wants this incident to remain entertainment. I think 50 is taking into consideration of how the hood might feel about everybody going after T.I. right when he catches a case. Alfamega just holled at Shawty Lo for doing the same thing in the video (props to onsmash for that)Or maybe it could be that it is coincidence? After all the first time I heard about 50 even having something to say about this was from Shawty Lo on SkeeTV when he said "50 said something to him, is he gone go after 50 like he did me?" I agree that 50 has never had an issue being direct, especially in a situation like this but I also know he is a marketing genius and knows how to sell a project. So ultimately, the public will decide what the hood already knows.
